Direct Assurance

Direct Assurance is a unique board game that combines elements of strategy, luck, and deduction. The game is designed for 2-4 players and takes approximately 30-60 minutes to play.

Objective

The objective of Direct Assurance is to be the first player to reach 100 points by correctly deducing the values of cards held by other players.

Setup

To set up the game, each player is dealt 5 cards from a deck of 52 standard playing cards. The remaining cards are placed in a draw pile in the center of the table.

Gameplay

On their turn, a player can choose to do one of the following actions:

* Draw a card: The player takes the top card from the draw pile and adds it to their hand.

* Play a card: The player plays a card from their hand face up on the table. The value of the card is revealed to all players.

* Challenge a card: The player challenges the value of a card that has been played by another player. If the challenge is correct, the player who played the card loses points. If the challenge is incorrect, the player who made the challenge loses points.

* Make a deduction: The player makes a deduction about the value of a card held by another player. If the deduction is correct, the player who made the deduction gains points. If the deduction is incorrect, the player who made the deduction loses points.

Scoring

Players earn points for correctly challenging cards, making deductions, and reaching 100 points first. Players lose points for incorrectly challenging cards or making incorrect deductions.

Strategy

Direct Assurance requires a combination of strategy and deduction skills. Players must carefully consider the cards they play and challenge, as well as the deductions they make. The game also involves a degree of luck, as the draw pile can affect the availability of certain cards.

Variations

There are several variations of Direct Assurance, including:

* Double Draw: Players draw two cards on their turn instead of one.

* No Deductions: Players are not allowed to make deductions.

* Wild Cards: A deck of wild cards is added to the game, which can be used to represent any value.
