Bogo Pakistan is a trick-taking card game that originated in Pakistan. It is typically played with four players in two partnerships, and the goal is to be the first partnership to reach a score of 1000 points.
Gameplay
The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The cards are ranked from highest to lowest: A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.
The game begins with the player to the left of the dealer shuffling the deck and dealing 13 cards to each player. The remaining cards are placed face down in the center of the table to form the stock.
The player to the left of the dealer leads with any card. The other players must then follow suit if possible. If a player cannot follow suit, they may play any card.
The highest card of the suit led wins the trick. If a player plays a trump card, it wins the trick regardless of the suit led.
The winner of the trick collects the cards and places them face down in a pile in front of them. The player to the left of the winner then leads the next trick.
Scoring
Points are scored by taking tricks. Each trick is worth 10 points. In addition, there are special bonuses for taking certain combinations of tricks.
* Bogo: Taking all 13 tricks in a single round is worth 260 points.
* Ghulam: Taking 12 tricks in a single round is worth 130 points.
* Nala: Taking 11 tricks in a single round is worth 60 points.
Winning
The first partnership to reach a score of 1000 points wins the game. If both partnerships reach 1000 points in the same round, the partnership with the higher score wins.
