FOX 10 Phoenix, formerly KSAZ-TV, is a television station in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, affiliated with the Fox Broadcasting Company. It is owned by the Fox Television Stations subsidiary of Fox Corporation and is part of the Phoenix duopoly with MyNetworkTV affiliate KUTP. The two stations share studios on Van Buren Street in downtown Phoenix, while FOX 10's transmitter is located on South Mountain.
History
KSAZ-TV first signed on the air on September 28, 1959, as an independent station owned by Stauffer Publications. The station originally operated from studios on Central Avenue in Phoenix and broadcast its signal on UHF channel 10. In 1962, KSAZ became the Phoenix affiliate of the ABC television network.
In 1972, Stauffer Publications sold KSAZ to Combined Communications. In 1986, Combined Communications was acquired by Gannett Company. Gannett sold KSAZ to Fox Broadcasting Company in 1994, as part of a group of stations that formed the nucleus of the Fox Television Stations group.
Programming
FOX 10 Phoenix airs a mix of local news, syndicated programming, and Fox network shows. The station's local newscasts are produced in high definition and are broadcast from the station's studios in downtown Phoenix. FOX 10 also produces a number of local programs, including the morning show "Good Day Arizona" and the evening news magazine "Arizona Horizon."
