The alladin Nettest (https://alladin.at) is an independent, crowd-sourced, open-source and open-data based solution.

• Generates and processes all results objectively, securely and transparently

• Tests 150+ parameters: speed, QoS & QoE

• Runs in Android, iOS, web browsers (WebSocket or Java)

• Enables drive tests. Optional hardware-integration

• 100% compliant to BEREC (EU), ETSI/ITU-T standards and to TK-TVO (DE).

Our solution is more than the solution of choice among our customers: universities and international research projects increasingly use our published code as a basis and benchmark for research in the field of data transmission quality. Transparency and expertise are the template on which we base our work and development.

Further qualities of the alladin Nettest are:

Accurate

Our measurement algorithm was developed by our network experts together with government technology specialists from mobile and fixed network communications. The measurement hypotheses were iteratively falsified and/or finally verified in the laboratory under simulated network conditions. This generally formulated method of measurement is equally reliable in testing variable, slow wireless connections and stable broadband connections. It maps the typical usage behaviour of an end user in terms of monitoring period, packet size, number of threads etc.

Comprehensive

Our Nettest evaluates all the currently available Internet usage scenarios as a whole in one piece of software. This includes the usual measurements such as signal, bandwidth, latency or packet loss, but focuses particularly on parameters regarding network neutrality and quality of service. It measures how the end user experiences the quality of his personal Internet usage. A good signal is no guarantee of high speed. High speed is no guarantee of constant video transmission - and consequently no guarantee of user satisfaction either. QoE can only be described quantitatively by means of extensive QoS measurements.

Mapped

By default we use Google Maps with reduced colour spectrum as a basic map. Semi-transparent layers are placed on top of them to show the points and a heat map. The heat map depicts available services such as e.g. download speed by means of two dimensions: colour and transparency. The colour defines the range of values. The transparency aggregates the number of measurements at a particular map point. The significance of the monitored service is presented and evaluated by this means.
By selecting the zoom level and filter, a new heat map is generated using the PostGIS/Postgre database. Our caching system guarantees prompt delivery of the map tiles.

Open

In our opinion, the most important aspect of a measurement tool is the credibility of the results. This is why we opted for open source as the most direct and most transparent type of documentation. This is the only way the functioning of the method of measurement can be verified comprehensibly and objectively. We also publish all the measurement results as open data - respecting protection of privacy, of course.

Reliable

The reliability of (aggregated) statistical evaluations depends primarily on the quality of each individual measurement result. Our quality control is fully automated and is achieved by comparison of parts of a measurement and cross-comparison with different measurements. The testing system is designed to be adaptive, i.e. once identified; irregularities are automatically identified if they occur subsequently. Measurements identified as anomalies are not censored, of course.

Significant

Uploading and downloading are measured, as are all the relevant parameters for monitoring network quality, such as latency, packet variance, jitter, packet loss etc. Furthermore, our Nettest processes all the important meta-information which describes the context of a measurement. Only by this means can measurement results be tested and validated thoroughly for significance and reliability.

Aladdin Nettest

Aladdin Nettest is a web-based game inspired by the classic Disney film Aladdin. Players take on the role of Aladdin, a street urchin who must collect coins, avoid obstacles, and defeat enemies to progress through various levels. The game features simple yet challenging gameplay, colorful graphics, and familiar characters from the movie.

Gameplay

Aladdin Nettest is a side-scrolling platformer where players control Aladdin as he runs, jumps, and climbs through different environments. The goal is to reach the end of each level while collecting as many coins as possible. Players must navigate platforms, avoid obstacles such as spikes and pits, and defeat enemies like guards and flying carpets.

Levels

The game features multiple levels, each with its own unique design and challenges. Players start in the streets of Agrabah and progress through the Cave of Wonders, the Sultan's Palace, and other iconic locations from the movie. Each level introduces new obstacles and enemies, requiring players to adapt their strategies.

Power-Ups

Aladdin can collect various power-ups throughout the levels to enhance his abilities. These include the Red Apple, which grants temporary invincibility; the Green Apple, which increases Aladdin's speed; and the Blue Apple, which allows him to shoot magic bolts at enemies.

Characters

In addition to Aladdin, players can also encounter other characters from the movie, including Abu the monkey, Princess Jasmine, and the villainous Jafar. These characters appear in certain levels and interact with Aladdin in various ways, such as providing assistance or posing challenges.

Graphics and Sound

Aladdin Nettest features colorful and detailed pixel art graphics that evoke the visual style of the original film. The game's soundtrack consists of catchy tunes inspired by the movie's score, creating a nostalgic and immersive experience for players.

Controls

The game is controlled using the arrow keys for movement, the spacebar for jumping, and the X key for shooting magic bolts. The controls are responsive and easy to learn, allowing players to focus on the gameplay rather than struggling with complex inputs.

Replayability

Aladdin Nettest offers high replayability value due to its challenging levels and the desire to collect all the coins and defeat all the enemies. Players can strive to improve their scores, unlock new power-ups, and master the game's mechanics through multiple playthroughs.
