AngolaAngola is a strategic board game for two players, played on a hexagonal grid. The game was created by Franz-Benno Delonge in 1995 and published by Hexagames.
Objective
The objective of the game is to control a majority of the board's hexes at the end of the game.
Setup
The game is played on a hexagonal grid with 19 hexes on each side. Each player has 12 pieces, which are placed on the board at the start of the game. The pieces are placed in a ring around the center of the board, with each player's pieces facing the other player's pieces.
Gameplay
Players take turns moving their pieces around the board. A piece can move one hex in any direction, including diagonally. A piece can also jump over another piece, either its own or its opponent's. If a piece jumps over an opponent's piece, the opponent's piece is captured and removed from the board.
The game ends when one player has captured all of the other player's pieces or when neither player can make a move.
Strategy
There are many different strategies that can be used to win at Angola. Some common strategies include:
* Controlling the center: The center of the board is important because it gives you more control over the board.
* Building bridges: Bridges are chains of pieces that connect different parts of the board. Bridges can be used to move pieces around the board quickly and to block your opponent's pieces.
* Attacking your opponent's pieces: Capturing your opponent's pieces is the best way to win the game. However, you need to be careful not to overextend yourself and leave your own pieces vulnerable to capture.
