CubamaxCubamax is a strategy board game for two or four players, designed by Reiner Knizia and published by Rio Grande Games in 2000. The game is set in Cuba during the Cold War, and players take on the roles of either the United States or the Soviet Union, competing for influence and control over the island nation.
The game board is a map of Cuba, divided into 24 provinces. Each province has a number of victory points associated with it, and the player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins. Players can gain victory points by controlling provinces, building hotels, and completing missions.
To control a province, a player must have more influence in that province than any other player. Influence is gained by placing agents in provinces, and by building hotels. Hotels generate income, which can be used to purchase agents and complete missions.
Missions are special objectives that can be completed to gain victory points. Missions vary in difficulty, and some require players to cooperate with each other.
Cubamax is a complex and challenging game that requires strategic thinking and negotiation skills. The game is suitable for both experienced and novice players, and it can be played in a variety of different ways.
Gameplay
The game is played over a series of turns. On each turn, a player can take one of the following actions:
* Place an agent in a province
* Build a hotel in a province
* Complete a mission
* Pass
Placing agents

Building hotels
To build a hotel in a province, a player must pay the cost of the hotel, which is equal to the number of victory points associated with the province. Hotels generate income, which can be used to purchase agents and complete missions.
Completing missions

Passing
If a player has no other actions to take, they may pass. Passing ends the player's turn.
End of the game
The game ends when one of the following conditions is met:
* All of the provinces have been controlled by a single player
* All of the missions have been completed
* The deck of mission cards is empty
The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins.
