Omroep WestOmroep West is a Dutch public broadcasting organization that serves the province of South Holland. It is part of the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO), the Dutch public broadcasting system. Omroep West produces and broadcasts radio, television, and online content.
History
Omroep West was founded in 1986 as a merger of three regional broadcasters: Radio West, TV West, and Omroep Delft. The organization's first broadcast was on January 1, 1987. Omroep West has since become one of the largest public broadcasters in the Netherlands, with a staff of over 200 employees.
Programming
Omroep West's programming focuses on news, current affairs, and culture from South Holland. The organization's flagship radio program is "West Wordt Wakker" (West Wakes Up), which airs weekdays from 6:00 to 9:00 AM. Omroep West also produces several television programs, including the news program "West Nieuws" and the current affairs program "West Debat."
