Timeline is a card game that challenges players to correctly place historical events in chronological order. With over 1,000 events spanning from the Big Bang to the present day, Timeline offers a comprehensive and engaging overview of human history.
Gameplay
Players start with a hand of five cards, each representing a historical event. On their turn, a player plays a card from their hand and places it on the timeline. The timeline is divided into five sections: Before 1000 BCE, 1000-1500 BCE, 1500-1900 CE, 1900-1950 CE, and 1950-Present.
The player who plays the first card correctly places it in the center of the timeline. Subsequent players must place their cards either to the left or right of the existing cards, ensuring that the events are in chronological order.
If a player makes an incorrect placement, they receive a penalty card. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game.
Variations
Timeline comes in several variations, including:
