Joy and Sadness must find their way back to Riley's headquarters in order to restore her emotional balance. Along the way, they encounter Bing Bong, Riley's imaginary friend from her childhood. Bing Bong helps Joy and Sadness navigate the subconscious mind and eventually find their way back to Riley.
