Points isn't just about rewards—it's about instilling valuable life skills like time management and fostering a culture of responsibility and good deeds.
PointsObjective:
Points is a simple yet addictive card game where players aim to accumulate the highest number of points by strategically playing cards from their hands.
Setup:
A standard deck of 52 cards is used. Two to four players can participate. The cards are shuffled and dealt equally among the players.
Gameplay:
1. Bidding: The player to the left of the dealer begins by bidding a number of points they believe they can accumulate. The minimum bid is 10 points, and subsequent bids must be at least 5 points higher than the previous one.
2. Tricks: The player who made the highest bid becomes the lead player for the first trick. They play any card from their hand, and the other players must follow suit if possible. If they cannot follow suit, they can play any card. The player who played the highest card of the suit led wins the trick and leads the next one.
3. Scoring: The value of each card is as follows:
- Ace: 1 point
- King: 10 points
- Queen: 5 points
- Jack: 3 points
- Number cards: face value
The player who wins the trick collects the cards and adds their points to their total.
4. End of Hand: The hand continues until all 13 tricks have been played. The player with the highest total score wins the hand.
Special Rules:
* Void Suit: If a player does not have any cards of the suit led, they can "void" the trick by playing any card. However, they will not receive any points for that trick.
* Jacks: Jacks are considered wild cards and can be used to follow any suit.
* Double and Redouble: Players can double or redouble the bid during the bidding phase, which increases the potential points earned or lost.
Winning:
The game is played over multiple hands. The player with the highest cumulative score after all hands have been played wins the game.
